The National Library of Belarus is one of the most distinctive expressions of contemporary Minsk architecture. Its geometric volume appears sculptural by day and takes on a different presence within the city's evening lights. The building offers a modern counterpoint to historic Minsk routes and a strong stop for travellers interested in architecture or urban photography. The library's official visitor information describes indoor and open-air observation spaces reached by panoramic lift at a height above 73 metres, with the indoor space on the 22nd floor. Observation access, tickets, lift operation and visitor arrangements can change, however. Current conditions must be checked before a visit, and the quality of the panorama naturally depends on the weather.
